During his time serving Limestone County, Derrick has worked to attract new investment, create jobs, improve infrastructure, strengthen workforce development, and make sure District 3 is prepared for the future.
ROADS & INFRASTRUCTURE
Improving the Roads We All Depend On
Derrick understands that strong infrastructure is essential to a growing county.
Under his leadership, Limestone County has continued making significant investments in road paving and resurfacing:

16 miles | $1.7 million
That's 103 miles of roads paved or resurfaced over three fiscal years, representing nearly $11 million in investment.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPEMENT
Bringing Billions in Investment to Limestone County
Derrick helped Limestone County secure 16 new and expanding industry projects representing approximately:
$6.6 BILLION in capital investment & 858 NEW JOBS for local workers
Among the major investments coming to the area:

$32.7 MILLION - Strata-G Solutions Facility at Pryor Field. This new facility represents a significant investment in District 3 and the broader Limestone County economy.

$6 BILLION - Eli Lilly Investment. This is one of the largest economic development investments in the region, creating significant opportunities for Limestone County's future.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Investing in Limestone County's Workforce
Derrick was instrumental in helping open the new Athens-Limestone Career Center at Athens State University.
The center positions Workforce Alabama to respond to the growing workforce demands of one of the state's fastest-growing regions and helps connect local workers with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed.

Derrick's commitment to Limestone County goes far beyond his work as a commissioner.
